I already hired a photographer, why would I need a photo booth?

Filmstrip Memories - Mobile Photobooth provides a unique experience for you and your guests.  For example at a wedding, while your photographer is busy preserving your most traditional moments, (capturing the ceremony and the wedding party pictures) the photo booth will be a fun and entertaining way for your guests to express themselves!  Also, in most cases the photographer starts early in the day and does not stay until the end of the night.  With the photo booth you can continue the fun well into the party - and that's when you get some of the best shots!  The idea of our photo booth is not to replace your photographer, but to add to the memories they have already captured.


How does the booth work?

It's simple!  All you need to do is grab some friends, throw on some props if you'd like, step into the booth and say cheese!  There is a touch screen inside where you can choose either colour or black and white prints.  Our attendant will be on hand to help make sure everything runs as smoothly as possible.


Do our guests have to pay to have their picture taken in the photo booth?

No.  Anyone can enter the booth as many times as they want and have their picture taken during your rental period.


How big is the booth?  How much space does it take up & how many people fit in it?

The booth measures 5x5 and is seven feet tall.  It fits comfortably in a 10x10 space, which allows room for people to move around the booth and watch the slideshow of pictures that have already been taken.  This also gives you room to put a table beside the booth for your guest book, and the monitor for the video slideshow, along with the printer.  You can fit five to six people comfortably in the photo booth... more if you squeeze!  The booth is also wheelchair accessible.  


What's the set up time?  What if I want it set up before my event?

Depending on the booth option you choose, it can take between 20 and 45 minutes to set up.  Typically we have it set up 30-60 minutes prior to your booking time.  If you would like the booth set up much earlier than that, we charge an idling fee for every hour that the booth is not in use.


Can the photo booth be sent up anywhere?  How 'mobile' is it?

As long as our 32-foot extension cord can reach a power outlet safely, yes the booth can be set up anywhere.  Our photo booth is easily transported, can be taken upstairs and can also be set up outside as long as the weather permits.  The best place for the photo booth is in a high traffic area so it's easy and convenient for guests to find.  Close to the bar always seems to be a good place!


How many pictures do we get?  Do our guests get copies?

You get unlimited photos for the time the booth is active.  Typically we do about 50 sessions in an hour based on how long it takes for people to get in the booth and take the pictures.  During each session, two strips will print out with four pictures on each strip.  You can give one strip to your guests, and keep one for a guest book, or give both away, it's up to you.  We offer guest books or you can use your own.  As the host, you get all the pics on a USB stick after your event.  Everyone in attendance can go to our website within 48 hours and view / download all the photos from your password protected gallery, at no charge.  


Can the strips be customized?

Yes!  The strips are completely customizable.  We can put whatever text you’d like on there, and you can even provide your own logo to be on each strip if you’d like.


Is your booth completely enclosed, or is it open air?  What’s the difference?

The Filmstrip Memories - Mobile Photobooth offers both designs.  See the ‘About The Booth’ page for a picture of each concept.  There are benefits to each design, however, if it’s not closed in, it’s not really a ‘photo booth’... it’s more like a camera on a tripod taking pictures against a backdrop.  The flash is then constantly going off in your venue.  That being said, some people like to watch the sessions as they happen.  It’s totally up to you!  Our enclosed booth has a roof, walls with curtain doors, and is very elegant looking.  You can always keep the curtains open if you wish to see the people getting their pictures taken.  Having the full booth adds a unique element to the atmosphere in the room.


Do you have any props?

Yes, The Filmstrip Memories 'Prop Box' is included in the price, and is always getting additions.


Why is there a three hour minimum for bookings for parties over 100 people?

In order to give everyone at your event a chance to experience the photo booth, and maybe go in more than once with different people, we feel that three hours provides the right amount of time.  On many occasions, we get asked to extend the rental time even beyond three hours.  If you are having a small party, contact us to discuss available alternatives.


How far do you travel for events?

Filmstrip Memories - Mobile Photobooth is available to rent in Eastern, through South Western Ontario.  We have offices in Ottawa, Kingston & Toronto.


Our photo booth can be booked for events at no extra charge in areas around Ottawa, Cornwall, Brockville, Kingston, Belleville, Peterborough, Oshawa, Whitby, Ajax, Pickering, Toronto and the GTA, including but not limited to, Markham, Richmond Hill, Newmarket, Vaughn, Brampton, Mississauga, Oakville, Burlington, & Milton.  Plus, Barrie, Guelph, Cambridge, Kitchener, Waterloo, Brantford, London, Hamilton, St. Catharines, Niagara Falls, and everywhere in between!
